3 1/2 c. Flour
2 tbsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Butter, softened
1 c. Dark Brown Sugar, packed
1/4 c. Sugar
1 Egg
1 c. Libby's Pumpkin

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the flour, pumpkin pie spice and baking soda. Set aside.

In large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and pumpkin and beat until light and creamy.

Add the dry ingredients gradually and blend well.

Divide the dough into six (6) portions and over and chill the dough for several hours.

On a generously floured board, roll out one part of the dough to 1/4 inch in thickness and cut out the shapes using a cookie cutter.

Bake at 350ºF for eight (8) to ten (10) minutes.
 

Frosting for Scary Spider Cookies

2 c. Powdered Sugar
1 tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
1 tbsp. Water

Directions:

Mix until smooth and add food coloring, as desired.

Use the frosting to make a spider web on the top of the cookie.
 

The "spiders" for the cookies

24 Large Gum Drops
24 pieces Thin Licorice whip candy (12" long cut into 2" lengths for the legs)
2 frosting dots for eyes

Assemble one spider for each cookie. The gum drop for the body, the licorice whip 2" pieces for the legs and frosting dots for the eyes.
