Beat 4 eggs in top of double boiler; stir in 1 package brown sugar and cook stirring 3 minutes.
Remove from hot water and add 1½ tsp vanilla.
Sift together and add 1½ cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder and ½ tsp salt.
Beat until smooth; add 1 cup coconut and walnuts.
Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan in slow oven 325º for 30 minutes.
Leave in pan until cool and then cut in squares.
