• 2 lbs. ground beef
• 10 Sweet Italian sausage cooked and sliced
• 4 cans each 28oz tomato puree
• 2 cans each 6oz tomato paste
• 1 Large finely chopped yellow or white onion
• 8-10 minced garlic cloves
• 2 15 ounces each can diced tomatoes (garlic, oregano, basil if available)
• 1.5 cups white sugar
• 4 Bay leaves
• 2 Red peppers diced
• 2 Green peppers diced
• Pepper
• Salt
• Italian seasoning
• 2 packages McCormick Zesty seasoning mix
• 2 tbs olive oil
• 2-3 cups water

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a large pot over medium heat cook ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning until beef is browned. Drain oil and return to heat.
2. In separate pan, add olive oil and heat on medium low for 1 minute. Add Italian sausage and slide around in the pan to ensure bottom sausage is oiled. Cook until light brown on both sides. Remove and set aside to cool.
3. Stir in tomato puree, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, red and green peppers, sugar, McCormick seasoning mix and water. Mix well and carefully bring to simmer. Add sausage and bay leaves.
4. Simmer the rest of the day (10 hours if you can, can do less if in a rush) making sure not to burn the bottom, Stir from bottom to the top. Stir as often as you can, the more stirring the better chance of not burning.
5. You can add more or less water as needed
