2-1/4 C flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp salt
2 C ground almonds
1 C butter softened
2 C 10 x sugar
2 egg yolks
10 x sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Sift Flour, cinnamon, cloves, and salt into a medium-sized bowl, Stir in almonds
2. Beat butter, sugar, and egg yolks in a large bowl until fluffy, stir in flour mixture until blended
3. Pinch off dough, about 2 tsp at a time, roll to 2" length, place on lightly greased cookie sheet 1" apart, and curve into crescents.
4. Bake 350 15-20 min
5. Cool, roll in 10x sugar

Put one pan on the bottom shelf, (middle oven) 7 min
Put one on top shelf 7 min
Switch, 14 min total.

Mom told me the story about how these cookies came to be, which I had forgotten. In 8th grade I had to do a project in Social Studies class, I choose Greece, I had to make food to share with the class, we found this recipe and it became one of my all-time favorite cookies!
