3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Mix in molasses and egg. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Roll in small balls, dip in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º F. for 12 to 15 minutes.
