Blend:
1 c. shortening (not butter)
2 c. applesauce
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs

Mix:
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
4 c. flour
Directions:
Directions:
Add the two mixtures together and stir in raisins or chocolate chips. (When using raisins in baking, it’s best to soak them in liquid or nuke them for a minute.)
Bake at 350 for 10-15 min. Don’t over bake. They don’t get very brown.
