1 lb. sweet butter
½ cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 jigger whiskey
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond extract
6 Tbs. toasted almonds, chopped
4½ cups sifted flour
3 cups sifted confectioners sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Add egg yolk, flavorings, and almonds, beating until well-blended.
Remove from beater and gradually add sifted flour to make a soft dough.
Pinch off pieces of dough and shape into various designs or roll into balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet, one inch apart.
Bake at 350º for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow to cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
Roll in confectioners sugar or sprinkle with confectioners sugar if you made shapes and not balls.
