¾ c brown sugar, packed
¾ c shortening
½ c sugar
¼ c water
1 tsp vanilla
3 c Quaker oats, uncooked
1 c flour
1 tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 c peanuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, shortening and granulated sugar on medium speed of electric mixer until creamy. Add egg, water and vanilla; beat well. Add combined oats, flour, salt and baking soda; mix well. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. For larger cookies, drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake 15 to 17 minutes. Remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered (in the freezer in an oatmeal container is best!)
