2 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
1/2 t. cream of tartar
7 Tblsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
food color (optional)
36 c. popped corn

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, syrup, cream of tartar, butter in pan and bring to a boil. Boil to a hardball (when a few drops are dropped in water). Remove from stove and stir in vanilla and soda and a drop or two of food color (optional). Pour over popped corn.
