2 lbs. potatoes pealed and sliced in half
3 cloves garlic (optional)
¼ C. butter (½ a stick) softened
1 can evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a large pot boil potatoes and garlic cloves until tender and fork tines easily go into potatoes.

2. Drain potatoes and garlic, put into a large mixing bowl, on low to medium speed mix in butter and slowly add milk until a nice creamy texture is reached ( you may not need the whole can of milk).

The flavor of mashed potatoes made with evaporated milk is much better with than those made with milk, but my granddaughter Elsie Coombes is allergic to garlic so I don't use it if she is eating.
This is how my grandma "Betty True/Weholt" made them.
I loved it when she made them.
