Makes about 5 dozen 2 " cookies.

Note: If using cookie cutters, cut the amount of baking soda and cream of tartar in half so you get a more distinct design.

1 1/2 C powdered sugar
1 C margarine softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 egg
2 1/2 C flour

See note above if using cookie cutters
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar

Mix powdered sugar, margarine, vanilla, almond extract and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Heat oven to 375.

lightly grease cookie sheet.

Divide dough in half. Roll each half to 1/4 inch thickness on lightly floured surface.

Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheet and bake 7-8 minutes or until edges are light brown. Remove from cookie sheet and cool.

Frost and decorate.

Decorator's frosting:

1 C powdered sugar
1 T water or 1/2 T half n half
1/2 tsp vanilla
