2 1/4 cups milk
1 tablespoon shortening
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt

3 cups flour
1 package yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the first four ingredients until warm. Stir to melt shortening.

Mix the flour and yeast in a bowl. Pour the warm milk over the flour & yeast. Beat at low speed until blended. Scrap sides of bowl.
Beat at High Speed for 3 minutes.

Add enough flour and mix with a spoon to kneading consistency.

Turn out on floured board and knead for 8 - 10 minutes.

Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise until double in size.

Punch down and divide in two parts. Let rest about 8 minutes and shape into loaves. (Makes 2).

Place in greased bread loaf pans. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes.
