1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cold water


Directions:
Directions:
Mix together butter, sugar and eggs. Add molasses, ginger & cinnamon. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients alternating with cold water until mixed. Chill for at least one hour, I usually leave them overnight. Roll to 1/4" thick, cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.

Grandma used to ice these with a powdered sugar icing but I prefer them without.
