Ingredients: 6 to 8 cans of chili beans (I use S & W "italian" chili beans) or may be called pinto beans (I think S & W repackaged and re-named the beans) 3 cans water 1 big can (20 oz.) S & W stewed tomatoes "italian" style 1 big can of Campbell's Tomato Soup (do NOT replace, it really messes up the flavor if you use anything but Campbell's). 1 to 2 TBLS. chili powder (to taste, some like it hotter than others-namely RYAN) 1 TBLS. pepper 2 TBLS. salt 1 TBLS. Ginger 2 big onions 3 lbs. hamburger

Directions:Brown hamburger and diced onions in a skillet till done. Set aside. In a big pot combine all the rest of ingredients. You can add more salt and pepper and chili powder to your liking. I make mine where everyone can eat it and then whomever wants to add more chili powder, or hot sauce. Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring occassionally and then lower the heat for another 30 minutes on low, so all the ingredients have time to marinate together.
I put Ginger in my pot because it helps cut out the bloating and gas and all that comes with it. Believe me, you will thank your cook for doing this!
I will put half of the chili in a container and freeze it for later. We use this chili and make chili-cheese dogs and chili-cheese fries and chili-cheese hamburgers. |
