Ingredients: 1 1/2 C powdered sugar 1 C margarine (or butter), softened 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp almond extract 2 1/2 C flour 1 tsp soda 1 tsp cream of tartar

Directions:Cream butter and sugar Mix in egg and flavorings Blend dry ingredients together and stir in.
Roll into a ball and flatten into a disk. Wrap tightly twice in Saran Wrap, being sure all dough is sealed from air. Refrigerate 2-3 hours.
Roll to about 1/4 inch thick at most onto parchment paper. Cut with sharp metal cookie cutters. (Grandma Cook always cut old fashioned Santas with the pack, hearts, trees, and bells.)
Remove the extra dough from around the cookies. Place the parchment paper onto the cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 5 min or until browned to your liking. |
