48 Hershey‘s kisses brand milk chocolate
½ cup shortening
¾ c creamy peanut butter
⅓ c granulated sugar
⅓ c Packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 Tb milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
⅓ c additional sugar for rolling

Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from chocolates. Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add ⅓ cup of granulated sugar and brown sugar, beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate into the center of each cookie; the cookie will crack around the edges. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely

These cookies have become a favorite at Christmas to give in our cookie trays. I also love to make them for the kids and grandkids to have with their hot chocolate during the holidays.
