1.5 lbs. ground beef
1 lb. package of carrots, peeled and grated*
1 package of celery, grated
5 medium onions, peeled and grated
4 potatoes, peeled and grated
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
salt and pepper

*A food processor makes this recipe go much faster; however, there were none of those gadgets when Grandma made it.

Fill a 5 quart pot 2/3 with cold water and place on medium heat. Crumble ground beef into the water and add tomatoes and salt and pepper. Add the grated vegetables and cook until done.
