Grandma's Baked Corn Recipe

3 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
dash black pepper
1 scant tbsp. maple flavor pancake syrup
3 rounded tbsp. dry bread crumbs
1 cup milk
1 14 oz. can creamed corn, undrained
1 12oz. can whole kernel corn, well drained
3 eggs well beaten

Topping
Dry bread crumbs
Butter.
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Melt butter in sauce pan. Remove from heat.
Stir in salt, pepper, syrup, and bread crumbs.
Add milk.
Heat just to boiling.
Remove from heat and let cool.
Add corn and mix thoroughly.
Add eggs and blend well.
Pour mixture into buttered Pyrex baking dish.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top, dot with butter and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over butter.
Bake in a 350º oven about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
