3 large egg whites
1 C. sugar (superfine if you have it)
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 C. (9 oz.) chocolate chips
3/4 C. chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

Beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until stiff

Add sugar until well mixed

Gently fold in chips and nuts.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a single layer of baking parchment covering oven shelf

Bake for 70 SECONDS, turn off oven, leave overnight

Store in airtight container for 2 weeks.

My mom made these all the time when I was a kid and they were my favorite. I am not a fan of walnuts, so I omit them.
