3/4 c. butter flavored Crisco shortening
1-1/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1/3 c. milk
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla


3 c. old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease cookie sheets. In a large bowl, combine shortening, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed on electric mixer until well blended. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to creamed mixture, at low speed, just until blended. Stir in raisins and nuts, stir well to incorporate thoroughly. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes on wire rack before removing from baking sheets. Makes about 2-1/2 dozen.
