1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature but not softened)
2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract or emulsion
1 tbsp Lorann red velvet emulsion
2-3 tbsp milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup buttermilk powder
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Apple cider vinegar

Directions:

1. Cream together butter and confectioners sugar
2. Add the egg, vanilla, red velvet emulsion, and milk. Mix well.
3. Sift together cocoa, buttermilk powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the butter mixture.
4. As the dough forms add Apple cider vinegar. The dough should pull away from the side of the bowl when ready (may need to add a little more flour)
5. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
6. Place cut out cookies in freezer for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 375º. Cook for 8-10 minutes.

When cookies cool you can decorate with royal icing (I use banana emulsion in my royal icing for these cookies. Let dry overnight.
