1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs well beaten
1 c. sour milk
4 tsp. baking soda
5 c. flour
½ c. molasses
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tbsp. ginger

Icing:
1½ c. sugar
½ c. water
1 tsp. vinegar
2 well-beaten egg whites
12 oz. marshmallows

Directions:
Directions:
1) Cream together 1 c. sugar and 1 c. shortening.

2) Add 3 eggs well beaten, 1 c. sour milk (add a little vinegar to sour it), 4 tsp. baking soda, 5 c. flour, ½ c. molasses, 2 tsp. cream of tarter, and1 tbsp. ginger.

3) Mix well and chill for 1 hour. Roll out and cut with a spam can. Bake at 350ºF for 8 minutes.

Icing:
Bring 1½ c. sugar, ½ c. water, and 1 tsp. vinegar to medium boil stage. Pour mixture over 2 well-beaten egg whites. Add 12 oz. or more of cut-up marshmallows. Ice cookies.
