4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tsp. fanilla
1 ⅓ cup suar
1 ⅓ cup shortening
4 tsp. baking powder
Lifesaver candy

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, and baking powder. Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs. Beat after each egg is added. Add vanilla and dry ingredients and mix well. Roll out onto floured board. Cut to desired shape.

Crush Lifeavers in plastic bag with hammer until powder. Place unbaked cookies on foil covered cookie sheet. Cut out center of cookie and fill center with crushed candy until full. Bake at 375º for 8 minutes, (should not brown.) Make sure to let cookies cool when done before removing them from foil. Decorate if desired.
