Filling:
2 cups ground or finely chopped raisins
1 tbsp. flour
¾ cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
½ to 1 cup nuts
Cookie Dough:
2 cups shortening 2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar. 1 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
6 cups flour, sifted

Directions:
Directions:
For Filling: Combine raisins, sugar, flour and water in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring until thick. Remove from heat, add vanilla and nuts. Chill.

For Cookies: Cream together shortening and sugars, beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough into 4 rolls about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and store in refrigerator overnight or until chilled.

To Bake: Slice roll of chilled dough into thin slices, place a slice on greased cookie sheet. Top with ½ tsp. filling and place another slice on top. Do not pinch together, baking will take care of that. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes.
