Chicken Paprikas


Ingredients:

2 whole (4lb.) chickens
2 large onions, chopped
2 tbsp. paprika
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. salt
dash cayenne pepper
1 qt. hot water
milk
flour
1/2 pt. sour cream or half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Cut Chicken. Fry onions in butter until half cooked. Add paprika and cook over low heat until color is well saturated. Add chicken and cook to coat chicken. Cook in pot, stirring and add salt, cayenne pepper and water (Make sure water is covering top of chicken). Cook slowly for 1½ hours. If water boils away, add more.
Make paste of flour and milk. Add to chicken and cook for a few minutes. Add cream- enough to get thickness of gravy.
 

Dumplings

3 eggs, beaten
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
½ c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients and beat well until dough is gummy. Drop by teaspoon into boiling salt water. Boil for 20 minutes or until done. Drain, rinse with hot water. Add to chicken paprikas and serve.
