1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
4 ½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 cup molasses
¼ cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Combine flour, baking soda, and spices. Add to butter mixture, alternately with molasses and water. (Dough
will be soft.) Cover and chill 2 hrs.
Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Shape into 9 inch rolls. Wrap each in wax paper. Freeze at least 2 hrs. Cut dough into ¼ inch slices. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake @ 350º for 10 - 12 minutes. Cool 3 minutes on cookie sheet. Yeild 8 dozen. 2 dozen per roll.
