1 C Crisco shortening
2 C sugar
3 eggs
1 C sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
4½ C flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually - cream until fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients then add alternately with sour cream. Add additional flour to rolling consistency for cutout cookies. Place on greased cookie sheet (or parchment paper).
Bake 360º for 12-15 minutes. Cool completely and frost and decorate cookies. Icing: powdered sugar, add tsp. of vanilla, add milk until spreading consistency.
Optional: add food coloring. If not using for cutouts, don't add additional flour and drop from a teaspoon onto the cookie sheet.
