1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. broken nuts
3 c. cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. shredded coconut

Directions:

Cream together:

Shortening, sugar, and brown sugar.

Add: vanilla and beaten eggs.

Sift together and add to creamed mixture:

Flour, soda, salt.

Mix in:

Nuts, oatmeal and coconut.

Shape into 2 or 3 rolls and chill. Slice and place on greased cooky sheet. Decorate with nuts.

Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 minutes

Makes 5 dozen.
