1 1/2 cups butter-- no substitute
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour baking soda and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Divide dough in half. Tint one half portion yellow. Divide the remaining dough into 2/3'rds and 1/3'd portion. Color the 2/3 portion orange and leave the smaller portion white.
Shape each portion of the dough into 2 8 inch logs. Flatten top and push sides in at a slight angle. Place the orange logs on the yellow log. Top with white log, form a rounded top. Wrap in plastic and chill for 4 hours until firm.

Unwrap and cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place 2 inch apart on a ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. or until set. Pemove to wire rack to cool.
