1 C. butter, softened
1/2 C. confectioner's sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 C. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 C. any fruit preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and beat until blended. Combine flour and salt in a small bowl. Gradually add flour to butter mixture, beating just until blended after each addition.

Preheat oven to 350ºF, lightly grease baking sheets.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Press thumb into each ball. Fill indentation with with preserves. Bake 15-20 minutes, just until edges are begining to brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
