4 C. white sugar
1 C. butter
1 C. shortening
1 1/2 C. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 lb. coconut
1/2 lb. nuts (walnuts are good)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients. Add flour until you get a very stiff dough, so you can knead into a very small balls. Will use approximately 8-9 cups of flour.

Flatten slightly with thumb on a cookie sheet in 375 degree oven. They should be the size of a quarter. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly brown around edges. They do not spread out, so you can add lots of cookies to each cookie sheet.

They come out hard as a rock, and taste yummy.
