Painted Christmas Cookies


Ingredients:

3 cups of flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup butter
1 1/4 cups of sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon & nutmeg. Set aside.
Cream butter with sugar until light & fluffy
Beat in egg and vanilla
Blend in flour mixture, just until well blended
Cover and chill for 3 hours
Roll dough and cut with cookie cutters.

Before baking "paint the cookies" and decorate with sprinkles

Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes

1 egg yolk, beaten
1/4 tsp water
paste or liquid food colors

Directions:

Beat egg yolk
Mix in water
Add food color as desired.

This is enough for two colors

Use a small paint brush to paint the colors on your cookie
