Ingredients: 4 sticks Unsalted Butter, softened 6 Egg Yolks, hard-boiled 2 c Powdered Sugar 4 c All-purpose Flour 3 T Unsalted Butter, softened
FILLING:
1˝ Dulce de Leche 4 T Unsalted Butter, softened 4 oz Cream Cheese 1 T Apricot Preserves

Directions:Beat together the cooked grated egg yolks, softened butter, and sugar. Add the flour and knead together until a soft dough forms. Shape dough into little balls using a teaspoon measuring scoop. Press the balls into the oven mold and bake cookies 25 minutes in a preheated 375°F oven or over medium flame, but watch carefully they cook quick!
Let cookies cool 3 minutes before removing from the mold (these are fragile when hot but once slightly cooled they harden.) Repeat process.
TO MAKE FILLING: Beat together all the filling ingredients just until combined. Fill each cookie half with the filling and join every two shells together. Chill after assembling and dust with powdered sugar for garnish. |

Notes: NOTE: (Dough should resemble a soft play-dough like dough and not stick to your fingers.)
These nut cookies are very popular in Slovakia. They consist of two shells joined together by a sweet cream. The shells should be in the form of walnuts (oriešky), a cast iron mold with a handle.
