¾ c shortening
1c firmly packed brown sugar
½ c white sugar

1 egg
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
½ t soda

½ can applesauce
1 c flour
3 c oatmeal (maybe more)
½ pkg semi sweet chocolate chips
½ c nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º

Cream shortening and sugars

Beat in egg, vanilla, salt, soda.

Add remaining ingredients.

Bake by spoonfuls 9-10 minutes.
