6 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
½ t. baking powder
1 c. butter
1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
4 t. cinnamon
4 t. ginger
1½ t. ground cloves
1 t. finely ground pepper
1 ½ t. coarsely ground salt
2 large eggs
1 c. unsulfured molasses

Directions:

Beat butter and sugars together. Add spices, salt, then eggs and molasses. Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir until just combined. Divide dough into thirds, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for about an hour.
Roll out on floured board about ¼" thick and cut into designs.
Bake at 375º for 7-10 minutes
