1½ cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup soft butter or shortening
1¼ cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
¼ cup milk
1½ cups whole wheat or Bran flakes
¾ cup salted peanuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda and salt.

Separately, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add egg to creamed mixture. Beat well.

Add flour mixture and milk. Mix well. Add bran flakes and peanuts.

Drop by tablespoons on a greased sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
