1 C granulated sugar
1 C packed dark brown sugar
⅔ C shortening
⅔ C unsalted butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2¾ C flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2½ C M&M candies

Directions:
Heat oven to 350ºF and adjust rack to middle position. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In large bowl with hand held mixer, add granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Turn mixer to low and mix just to combine. Add shortening and softened butter, and beat 3 min on medium until lighter in color and smooth.

Add vanilla and beat 30 seconds.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing just until incorporated after each addition.

In another large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to sugar/butter mixture at low speed. Mix just until flour is incorporated. Fold in the M&M candies.

Refrigerate dough 1-24 hours.

Drop 1 Tabsp dough onto baking sheets spacing 2 inches apart.

Bake for 9 min or just until edges start to set and are firmer to touch. Cool on baking sheet for 2 min before moving to cooling rack.
