1 egg
1 c. sugar
½ c. shortening
½ c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3½ c. flour
½ tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cram shortening and sugar.
Add salt, well beaten egg, milk, vanilla, and flour.(sift with baking powder and soda)
Mix and turn out on floured surface.
Dough should be soft.
Roll very thin and curt out with cookie cutter.

Spread cookie with raisin filling and top with another cookie, pressing edges together. (see filling below)

Bake at 350º for 15 minutes or just before edges brown.

1 c. chopped raisins
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water

May add chopped nuts if desired.

Mix sugar and flour in pan. Add raisins, nuts and water.stir and cook until thick.

Cool before spreading on cookie.
