Bonbon Cookie

¾ cup powdered sugar
½ cup stick butter, softened
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
Food color, if desired
1½ cups all-purpose flour
⅛ tsp. salt
Maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350ºF. Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and a few drops of food coloring in bowl. Stir in flour and salt until dough holds together. (If dough is dry, add milk). Shape dough by tablespoonful around cherry to form a ball. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 min. or until set, but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet and cool completely on wire rack. When cooled, dip top of cookies in vanilla glaze.

1 tbsp. + 1½ tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Tint with a few drops of food coloring if desired.

When rolling the dough, the ball should be firm, but not dry, and not too wet. The cookies will run if too wet.
