2 1/4 C. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
2/3 C. molasses
6 T. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour once, measure and resift with the salt, baking soda and ginger. Heat the molasses to boiling, add the shortening and blend. Cool slightly, then add dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Wrap dough in heavy wax paper and chill thoroughly. Roll out a one-eighth inch thick and cut with lightly floured cookie cutters. Bake in a 350º oven for 8-10 mins. when cool, frost as desired.
