1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond flavoring
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and flavorings; mix thoroughly. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. Refrigerate 2-3 hours.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half and roll 3/16" thick on a lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with cooky cutter; sprinkle with sugar. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 min or until delicately golden.

Makes 5 doz 2-2 1/2" cookies.

*if you use self-rising flour omit soda and cream of tartar.
