1 cup boiling water
½ tsp salt
½ cup grits
¼ stick butter
2 green, mild jalapeno peppers cut up
4 oz medium or sharp Cheddar cheese
½ small onion chopped
1 egg, well beaten
black pepper and garlic powder to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Cook grits in boiling water, add cut up or grated cheese until melted. Add butter then egg. Blend. Add onion, jalapeno peppers, and seasonings.

Bake 30 minutes at 350º

Green sweet peppers may be used instead of jalapeno peppers.
