4 large baking potatoes cut into cubes and boiled until fork tender
⅔ © real butter
¾ tsp. salt
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp white pepper
5 cups of milk (or 2½ cups of cream and 2½ cups of half and half)
1 cup of sour cream
¼ cup of minced onions
¼ cup of minced chives
10 bacon strips cooked crisp and crumbled
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Melt butter over medium heat. Cook onion until transparent. Add potatoes and milk. Add salt and both types of pepper. Heat until just before boiling. Remove from heat and add sour cream. Top with bacon, cheese and chives just before serving.
