3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp fine salt
1 2/3 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
12 oz pack of semi-sweet chocolate chunks or milk chocolate chunks
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup instant oats
1/3 cup white sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp molasses
1 stick of butter, unsalted

Preheat the oven to 350º. Line the cookie sheets with silicone pads. Whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and oats in a large bowl. In a stand mixer, combine the Crisco, butter, molasses, brown and white sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the dry ingredients, little by little, scraping the sides of the bowl to make sure everything is combined well. Fold in the chocolate chunks. These cookies are made big, much bigger than regular chocolate chip cookies. Make balls of dough, approx. 3", and then flatten just a bit. Six should fit on a cookie sheet, make sure they're spread apart so they don't run into each other. Bake 18 minutes. Cool on the pan for 2 minutes, then fully cool on a wire rack.

The kids love Chic-Fil-A cookies, I don't like Chic-Fil-A's political stances. These cookies are really good... I found a recipe online and made it better by using molasses and doubled the oats.
