Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter softened- either salted or unsalted-DON'T substitute
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 large or ex large eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons real vanilla- don't use imitation
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour- may need to add another 1/4- 1/3 cup if using ex large or jumbo eggs
2 teaspoon salt- if using salted butter cut the salt in half.
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 12 oz pkg premium real milk chocolate chips- may use semi sweet if you prefer
1 pkg M & M's- not the individual size
1/2- 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugars, then add eggs and beat until well blended and fluffy. Add salt, baking soda and powder and vanilla and mix well. Add the flour, a half cup at a time, mixing well before adding more flour. Add chips, M & M's and pecans last, stirring till evenly blended.
Refrigerate for a half hour or more before baking.
Drop spoonful's onto greased baking sheet. I usually will bake a few first, to make sure the flour amount is sufficient. If the cookies flatten out too much, you will need to add an additional 1/4 - 1/3 cup flour.
Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes depending on the size of your cookie batter used.
***Most cookie recipes bake at 375º but DON'T increase heat! When using butter, the butter burns at the higher temp.
You want to remove the cookies from the oven when the cookies are golden on the outer edges of the cookie but not over the whole cookie. The cookie will continue to cook after taking it out but by taking them out when they are first browning, the cookie is chewy and moist not crunchie. Cook them 2-3 minutes longer if you want them crunchie.

Personal Notes:
In the early 90"s we lived in Evansville, IN. I was privleged to have a neighbor who worked for Mrs. Fields. At that time, the employees had to sign a non-disclosure agreement for all recipes used by Mrs. Fields. Then, the internet was in its infancy and there were no recipes posted and Mrs. Fields only sold her cookies in retail stores and at malls. The recipes were closely guarded and VERY confidential!!!
Through a series of conversations with my neighbor and experimentation with the recipe, I felt I was able to reproduce this famous award winning recipe and maybe even make it a little better!
I have served it to my family for years and as a special treat to my Sunday School kiddos. One little boy, Sanford, begged for them, especially on his birthday or for special occasions.
Love that boy and all my special kids at Bedford Acres Christian Church!!!
