2½ c. flour
1¼ c. sugar
½ c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt

Frosting:
1 c. powdered sugar
½ tsp. powdered vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place cookie ingredients in a baggie marked cookies. Place frosting ingredients into a smaller bag marked frosting. Print and attatch a tag that gives these instructions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening until fluffy. Mix in bag of cookie mix and mix until crumbly. Add one egg and 1/8 c. water and stir until a soft dough forms. You may need to add more water. On a lightly floured surface use a floured rolling pin and roll out dough to 1/4 in thickness and use cookie utter to cut shapes out of dough. Transfer shapes to a greased cookie sheet, Bake 6-8 minutes until the bottoms are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Frost if desired. Store in an airtight container.

Frosting:
Combine 1 stick butter with ingredients in frosting bag. Mix well add 1 Tb. milk at a time to mix to desired consistency. May color with food coloring if desired.

I discovered this recipe while I was provisional mom in 2006. It has been a Holiday Market hit ever since. It is also my favorite recipe for sugar cookies.
