¾ C. Butter
1 C. Packed Light Brown Sugar
½ C. White Sugar
2 - Large Eggs
2 t. Vanilla
2 ¼ C. plus 2 T. Flour
1 t. Baking Soda
¾ t. Salt
1 - 12 oz. Pkg. Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1 C. Chopped, toasted Pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 325º.

Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a saucepan, melt the Butter, stirring constantly, until the Butter begins to turn golden brown. 6 to 8 minutes. Immediately remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the butter into a small, heatproof bowl. Cover and chill until the butter
is cool and begins to solidify, about 1 hour.

Beat the Browned Butter, Brown Sugar, and White Sugar until creamy. Add the Eggs and Vanilla. Beat until blended.

In a bowl, stir together the Flour, Baking Soda, and Salt.

Gradually add the Flour mixture to the Browned Butter mixture.

Blend in the Chocolate Chips.

Using a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop and drop dough 2-inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Bake only one sheet at a time for 11-13 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Transfer cookies to wire racks; cool about 15 minutes.
