1 1/3 c solid Crisco
1 c sugar
1 egg
2 tsp almond extract
few drops of yellow food coloring

3 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream first 5 ingredients together.

Mix the baking soda into the flour, then add 1/3 of it at a time to the creamed mixture.

Knead dough 10-12 minutes, roll into quarter sized balls, using a small cookie baller, and gently press in the center with a knuckle to flatten a bit. Place a dot of red food coloring into each depression.

Bake at 350º for 20-23 minutes.
