1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3 c. flour
2 teas. salt
2 teas. baking soda
1 teas. baking powder
1 teas. cinnamon
2 c. shortening (Crisco)
6 c. rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Sift first 7 ingredients.
Cut in shortening.
Add rolled oats.
Mix well and store in a cool, dry place.

TO MAKE 4 DOZEN COOKIES, COMBINE:
2 beaten eggs
2 teas. vanilla
4 c. cookie mix
Mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
Flatten with a fork.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Options---add 1 c. raisins, walnuts, and /or chocolate chips

The mix can be placed in a quart size canning jar.
Tie with a pretty ribbon and attach baking directions for a nice gift.
