Personal Notes:
Mom/ Grandma Helen made these cookies every Christmas.
As the story goes, she would make these for the Heinen/Vestal Christmas. These were Uncle Billy's favorite. Uncle Billy (Vestal) was Grandpa Rich's brother and he lived with Aunt Shirley (their sister) and her family. on the south side of Chicago.
Grandma Helen would bring him his own special tin of the cookies. Legend has it that he would hide the tin in his room under the bed and count the cookies to make sure no one would sneak any!
